Breaking news straight from Baker Street: Young Sherlock is real, it exists, and it already has a release date.

Prime Video has just announced a new series that revisits the origin of Sherlock Holmes, played by Hero Fiennes Tiffin (After). Led by director and executive producer Guy Ritchie, the show reimagines the legendary detective through an irreverent, impulsive origin story, clearly uninterested in playing by the rules.

Set in 1870s Oxford, we meet Sherlock at 19, stumbling into a murder at the university. Totally undisciplined but oddly brilliant, he dives into the case and ends up unraveling a conspiracy way bigger than he bargained for. Basically, the chaos that shapes the Sherlock we all know (and love).

Young Sherlock drops on March 4, 2026, with eight episodes, exclusively on Prime Video. Watch the teaser’s right below:
